God Who is full of great mercy
and love which does forgive
is not too concerned for your past
in the way that you’ve lived

because He has the power to change
the hearts of evil men
redeeming them from all their sins
freedom to live again

mercy is showing compassion
wisdom is knowing thus
forgiving is an act of God
love’s shown in spite of us

the darkest sins can be erased
forgotten evermore
cleansed by the precious blood of Christ
it was you He died for

Jesus knows how frail we all are
how sin destroys our life
His mercy extends to all men
who come into His light

how beautiful is God’s mercy
as man will turn from sin
then atonement comes from His blood
as man is born again

thus a relationship is born
His Spirit with our own
eternal life is our reward
great mercy has been shown
